On 14 October in the Johannesburg was starting Enactus World Cup . During this amazing events, teams from more than 30 countries were presenting projects and their impact on development of local communities.

On this year Poland is represented by Warsaw University of Life Sciences with the project “Aphasia”.

 

Aphasia is a language disorder that is caused by brain injury, most commonly stroke. Students from SGGW encountered this topic at a conference in the university.

They were inspired to help people with aphasia and that’s why they started co-operation with Marcin Wichrowski – a lecturer at Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology, which created an application Aphasia Create.

This application not only supports people in communication but also helps in their rehabilitation.

In addition, they have launched a website aphasiapomoc.pl which information has been included for the first time in contact with the problem of aphasia.

The project has met with praise to give among other support under the grant competition of LOTOS Group – „responsibly with LOTOS” and was featured among others in Polsat and Rzeczpospolita.

Except presentations of projects Enactus World Cup will also include numerous meetings, panel discussions and debates to foster exchanges of experience between participants, representatives of the business world and tutors.

The event was attended by over 3,000 participants including more than 600 judges, managers and directors from around the world, representatives of companies such as KPMG, Wallmart, Microsoft and others.
